Script idea from xenoclan.com [xeno]bowzy // #status = Public Beta // #readme = scripts/autoexec/BuddyPoints.txt // #acknowledgements = Ratorasniki, xgalaxy, Soterion, and PanamaJack BuddyPoints Version: 0.25 Public Beta By: Tornak Idea by: bowzy Date: May 09, 2001 E-Mail: tornaknz@yahoo.com E-Mail: bowzer@xenoclan.com Overview: This script was created to help stick with certain players when in clan matches, or organized pub games. The reason we made this is because you can't do multiple escorts. The script features waypoints to selected players, and renaming of waypoints. So when you add a buddy, it creates a waypoint to that person. You then can rename that waypoint if you like, and now it's also possible to rename normal waypoints. New Additions ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) Automatically gets the player names. 2) You can now shift+click to add more than one person at a time. Bug Fixes ~~~~~~~~~ 1) Fixed the problem with the odd looking rename player gui. It happened to people who didn't have Writer's Support. This is fixed now, so it works if you don't have it. Future Ideas ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1) Option to choose different waypoint icons. 2) Save players names for remembering buddies. 3) Options tab under Writer's Support. 4) Option to Auto-buddy people on your buddy list (The community one). 5) On/off key for displaying buddy waypoints. 6) TabMenuHud addon. (If Crunchy is okay with it ;) Installation: Unzip buddypoints-v025.zip to your Tribes 2 directory. Everything will be put into the right places. Just start Tribes2, and thats it! If you have Writer's support, it will display under the scripts menu. Usage: Once in a game, bring up your command center. On the right, you'll see your teams player list. When you right click a person, you can now "Add Buddy". When you select this, it creates a waypoint to that person. If you'd like to rename that waypoint, go to the waypoints in the command center, and right click the desired waypoint, and click "Rename Waypoint". Type in a new name. Known Bugs/Issues: - If you loose site of a buddy for too long, its last location might stay in one place until you get back in that persons range. - When a person dies, his BuddyPoint won't update until he respawns. If you find anything that you think could be a bug of some sort, contact one of us. Credits: Tornak coded the script (which rocks!), bowzy play tested and helped out getting information on certain things, he also handled the readme stuff. :) Special Thanks: Ratorasniki - His waypoint script helped us tremendously for autonaming. xgalaxy - A tremendous help, also suggested the renaming waypoints. Soterion - Giving a hand on figuring out some commands for targeting waypoints. PanamaJack - For putting up with bowzy's annoying newbie questions :)
